The entrepreneurial James Mullin stands at the compelling creative intersection of design, music and imagery. He studied at the Art Institute of Dallas but first established himself as a vital music industry influence - from starting in radio and clubs to receiving the Billboard World Song Award for best rock alternative composition in 2005. Two years later, his music was being played in various television shows including MTV’s The Real World, Road Rules and E!’s The Bad Girls Club.
In the midst of working on new material for his next album, Jim decided to infuse his work with a distinct visual component by designing a T-shirt and clothing line. The synergistic result prompted him to stage more productions that showcased his collections, music and photography that became the centerpiece of various Chicago social, charity and fashion events. Consequently, James transitioned fully into design, exploring the range of modern dressing from casual to eveningwear. In 2011, he connected with Les Walgreen, of the drugstore Walgreen family, and together they laid the groundwork for a bonafide fashion line.
James officially launched JM COUTURE in the West Coast with a spectacular runway show at El Paseo Fashion Week 2014. With an eye toward evolving JM Couture into a global lifestyle brand, he assembled a topnotch team. Always acutely aware of the cultural and business zeitgeist, James brings to the fore his multi-faceted talents by supporting his sophisticated collections with forward thinking images and video, music, and even the development of a reality TV show. His relentless passion for style fuels what promises to be ever more triumphs for JM Couture.
